Ada’s Jessi Bolin – Student Athlete – Presented by Vision Bank

At Ada High School, the tennis courts come alive with the swift movements and determined spirit of junior Jessi Bolin. Her journey in tennis, marked by resilience and passion, epitomizes the essence of sportsmanship and dedication.

For Jessi, tennis is not just a sport; it’s a testament to her perseverance and love for the game. As she strides across the courts, her motivation stems from the thrill of conquering challenges and achieving victory. “My motivation comes from the fulfillment of winning that tough match or getting past a hurdle that I’ve been working towards,” she shared with unwavering determination.

Guiding her through the highs and lows of her tennis career are her unwavering pillars of support: her family and coaches. They’ve instilled in her the values of hard work and commitment. “My family has always pushed me to be the best I can be. When it comes down to it, they always show up and support me no matter what!” She also credits her coach, Terry Swopes, for being a constant source of encouragement both on and off the court.

In her pursuit of excellence, Jessi finds inspiration in her assistant coach, Dr. Noah G. Watkins, whose wisdom and guidance have left an indelible mark on her life. “He has given me countless pieces of advice and always knows the right thing to say,” she reflected, acknowledging the profound impact of his mentorship.

Despite facing challenges like carpal tunnel and tennis elbow surgeries, Jessi’s resilience shines through. Her highlight moments include achieving remarkable rankings at the state level despite battling through injuries. Her tenacity and perseverance exemplify the true spirit of a champion.

Off the court, Jessi remains deeply involved in various campus activities, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Japanese Interact Club, Spanish Club, Art Club, Forensics, Pottery and National Honor Society. Her multifaceted engagement reflects her commitment to both academics and extracurricular pursuits.

Looking ahead, Jessi plans to pursue a career in nursing at East Central University, carrying with her the lessons of discipline and teamwork that tennis has taught her. As she continues to represent Ada High School and her community, she epitomizes the values of integrity, resilience and excellence that define her as a remarkable athlete and individual.
