They’ve instilled in her the values of hard work and commitment. “My family has always pushed me to be the best I can be. When it comes down to it, they always show up and support me no matter what!” She also credits her coach, Terry Swopes, for being a constant source of encouragement both on and off the court.

Despite facing challenges like carpal tunnel and tennis elbow surgeries, Jessi’s resilience shines through. Her highlight moments include achieving remarkable rankings at the state level despite battling through injuries. Her tenacity and perseverance exemplify the true spirit of a champion.
Off the court, Jessi remains deeply involved in various campus activities, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Japanese Interact Club, Spanish Club, Art Club, Forensics, Pottery and National Honor Society. Her multifaceted engagement reflects her commitment to both academics and extracurricular pursuits.
Looking ahead, Jessi plans to pursue a career in nursing at East Central University, carrying with her the lessons of discipline and teamwork that tennis has taught her.
