Ada’s Hunter McDonald – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by Vision Bank

As the crack of the bat echoes across the diamond, Hunter McDonald stands tall, a nod to his unwavering dedication both on the field and in the classroom. A senior at Ada High School, Hunter embodies the essence of a scholar-athlete, seamlessly blending academic excellence with sporting prowess.

“I have always done really well in school, and I have always played baseball since I was little kid,” Hunter reflected, offering a glimpse into his academic and athletic background.

For Hunter, baseball isn’t just a game; it’s a passion instilled by his father. “My dad is the one that pushed me to play, and he showed me the love for the sport just like he had for it,” Hunter shared, revealing the familial bond and inspiration driving his athletic journey.

Drawing inspiration from professional players, Hunter admires Francisco Lindor for his character and skill. “It’s just the way he carries himself that I love to watch him, and he just inspires,” he said.

Balancing academics and athletics require discipline, a feat Hunter manages with finesse. “During school, I focus on all my schoolwork and when I get to baseball, it’s all about baseball,” he explains, showcasing his ability to prioritize and excel in multiple arenas.

Among the cherished moments of his high school baseball career, one stands out: “When JD Muse hit a home run off of a kid’s head. It was just a really funny experience that will probably never happen again,” Hunter reminisced.

Hunter’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. “I have been small all of my life, so I have had to work really hard to get to where I am now,” he admitted.

As part of the team, Hunter has forged lasting friendships, speaking to the transformative power of sports. “Being on this team, I have made so many friends that I will remember forever and always stay in touch with,” he reflected.

Looking ahead, Hunter plans to continue his journey at Murray State College, possibly pursuing baseball at the collegiate level. Regardless of the path he chooses his commitment to excellence will undoubtedly guide him toward new heights.
