Ada High School cheer coach Randi Wilkins describes Mallory Hutchins as a, “all-around athlete.” A term that certainly fits the senior.
Hutchins has cheered since junior high and is now one of the leaders of the Ada cheer team.
“She is a leader on my squad and always has a positive attitude about life. She gets along well with everyone and is the first one to volunteer for anything I need,” said coach Wilkins.
For Hutchins, being part of the team and is about working hard and having fun.
“What I love most about cheer is getting to share great memories with a great group of girls while cheering on our team,” said Hutchins. “The thing I love most about my team and teammates is that we know how to have a great time, on sidelines and in practice.”
Academics are also a major focus for Hutchins. She is Class President, involved in Student Council, National Honors Society and National Technical Honors Society.
“I don’t have a particular subject in school I love most. Although I love all of my teachers, I’d probably have to go with my coach, coach Wilkins as my favorite since I’ve spent more time with her because of cheer. Plus, she’s always pushing our team to be the best we can be,” said Hutchins.
After graduating, Hutchins will attend college, but where is still a question. Her top two schools are the University of Oklahoma and Langston University. Hutchins would like to major in the medical field.
