Finding your passion can be a difficult thing to do. You might look high, low, and in all of the usual places. But for some, like Ada freshman Bradi Odom, that passion can be found in unexpected places.
“When I was younger, I was always dragged around to watch my brothers play sports,” Odom says. “So, at first, I wasn’t really interested in sports. But eventually, I found softball and it just clicked. I felt like I knew what I was going to do after that.”
As a freshman pitching on Ada’s varsity softball team, Odom knows that her role is simple: Do her job and help this team play its best softball.
“If I do my job, and do it right, then we can perform well,” she says. “My role is to make sure everyone can perform to the best of their abilities.”
Being a freshman, Odom has virtually her entire high school career still ahead of her to achieve the things she wants to achieve in high school. Odom also knows softball can help her achieve her long-term goals after high school.
“I hope I have future in softball, and I really want one,” Odom says. “I want to go into the medical field when I’m older. I know if I can get a scholarship from softball that would probably be the best thing to help me do that.”
