VYPE: What are your goals for yourself and your team this season?
Bolin: My biggest goal for myself this year is to grow as a player and a teammate. For the team, I hope we will grow even closer than we already are, become a big family, and always be there for each other – on and off the court.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Bolin: The most fun I’ve had is going to boys and girls high school state this past year. The experience is amazing even when not playing.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade or coach and why?
Bolin: Coach Swopes has always been my favorite coach. He is always there for me whenever I need him and can always make me laugh.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Bolin: I have many memories from tennis, but I do have some favorites. Whether it be our long talks in the building after practice, our adventures at state, being on the court constantly in the summer and getting our bad tan lines, or even when we’re at the courts until 2 am.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Bolin: I honestly don’t think I could pick just one. Both the girls and boys teams influence me to be better, whether that be being a better player, teammate, and even friend. They are my biggest supporters in anything in life. They are my family.
VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?
Bolin: We don’t usually do impressions, but one of our assistant coaches, Lauren, has a blanket with a picture of Coach Swopes in an elf costume. That blanket can always make us laugh, even when we are stressed out during a thought match.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Bolin: I’ve always wanted to go to Australia. I would take my whole family and make a big trip out of it.
VYPE: If you had $500 and had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?
Bolin: I would definitely go on a Lululemon shopping spree!
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Bolin: I want to thank our assistant coaches Lauren, Noah, and Christian. They are always there for me on and off the court. They push me to be a better player but also remind me to always have fun.
