Lilly Cadenhead is the latest freshman to watch for Ada tennis.
Ada head coach Terry Swopes has a young team this season with several freshmen and sophomores making a splash.
“We will be a young team this year with a lot of freshmen seeing action, but we will be extremely competitive,” said coach Swopes.
Lilly Cadenhead is one of those freshmen expected to see plenty of time on the court in competition this season.
“Lilly is a freshman this year, but she will play a major part on our team this season. She is an excellent player and hard worker,” said coach Swopes.
We caught up with Lilly to learn more about her and the future of the program.
VYPE: Lilly, how long have you been playing tennis?
Cadenhead: I have played tennis since seventh grade. I was around 12 when I got really serious about it.
VYPE: Now that you’re part of the team, what do you enjoy most about your varsity teammates?
Cadenhead: My teammates mean everything because they’re always there to cheer me on when I experience highs and lows on the court. I can always look to them when I’m in need of advice, on and off the court.
VYPE: What makes being a student-athlete special at Ada High School?
Cadenhead: Being a student-athlete at Ada I get to represent my school doing something I love. It’s like a family. To me it’s more than just a sport it feels like home.
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Cadenhead: I enjoy being outside, hanging out with my friends and also playing tennis!
