Ada’s Cade Green
Wrestling is often measured by wins, losses and podium finishes. For Ada’s Cade Green, the most important victory of his career never appeared on a scoreboard.
As he enters his junior year, Green points to something much more personal when asked about his proudest accomplishment. This past season, he overcame years of low confidence, a challenge that affected him on and off the mat.
“I accomplished my goal of overcoming low confidence this wrestling season,” Green said. “It doesn’t seem like a lot, but it’s a huge deal for me.”

The accomplishment may not show up in a record book, but it changed the way Green approaches competition and life. Instead of allowing doubt to dictate his mindset, he learned to trust his preparation and push through difficult moments.
Wrestling demanded that Green face adversity head-on. Through the sport, he learned that progress comes from showing up every day, working through challenges and refusing to quit.
“Wrestling has taught me how to be a hard worker and to never give up, and most of all how to be a great leader and fighter even when times are tough,” Green said.

Along the way, Green found guidance from people who challenged him to become better. Chief among them is Coach Bo, whom Green considers the most influential person in his wrestling career.
“He has been a great person to follow and has taught me many lessons not just about wrestling, but life as well,” Green said.
One lesson from Coach Bo has stayed with him: “Don’t take what you have for granted; give it your all while you still can.”
Green said that message mirrors the encouragement he receives from his father, who has been a constant source of support throughout his athletic journey.
“I would like to show appreciation to my dad,” Green said. “He’s been with me through all of my career and has been very hard on me in the best way possible, pushing me and encouraging me to go and get to work.”
Outside wrestling, Green is active in Student Council, Spanish Club and AP courses. The confidence he built now follows him into every area of his life, proving his biggest victory wasn’t over an opponent, but over the self-doubt he once carried.
