2025 Ada Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by Casey Fowler – Shelter Insurance

ADA LADY COUGARS

COACH: Christie Jennings

Record: 18-11

OUTLOOK

The Ada Lady Cougars enter the new season with a renewed sense of confidence and togetherness under longtime head coach Christie Jennings, who is impressed by her team’s chemistry and drive despite not having a senior leader. “Even without a senior leader, this group has built something special,” Jennings said. “Their chemistry is off the charts, and the way they push each other every day speaks volumes about their character. They’re young, but they compete and work like veterans.”

Leading the charge for Ada is Ava Campos (6-1, Jr.), a versatile forward who averaged 13.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game last season. Jennings praised Campos for her evolution into a multi-dimensional player. “Ava is a skilled post player who has worked hard to improve her perimeter skills,” she said. “She will be able to play multiple positions for us this coming season.” Campos’ size, scoring ability, and expanding range make her a key piece in the Lady Cougars’ offensive attack.

At the point, Amyah Howell (5-6, So.) brings poise and intelligence beyond her years. Averaging 4.6 points and 1.9 assists per game, Howell’s steady hand will continue to guide Ada’s offense. “Amyah was named Freshman of the Year for the Ada area,” Jennings said. “She has a high basketball IQ and is a savvy point guard with scoring ability.”

Adding to Ada’s depth is Aniyah Emarthle (6-0, Jr.), a strong forward who contributes 5.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, as well as Chloe Martin (5-6, Jr.). “Chloe is a great young lady who works extremely hard,” Jennings said. “She’s a great teammate who leads by example and is very involved in STUCO at Ada High School.”

Also expected to make an impact this season are Kendall Barnes (5-4, Jr.), Lexi Linn (5-9, Jr.), Izzy Justus (5-6, Jr.), Aliyah Marshall (5-6, Jr.), Neveah Gore (5-9, So.), Alejandra Solorio (5-5, So.), Journie Redbird (5-5, So.), and Jadyce Burns (5-7, So.) — a balanced mix of size, speed, and energy that complements Ada’s style of play.

With no shortage of talent and an undeniable bond, Jennings believes this young but experienced squad is ready to rise.
