As the baseball season gears up for another season, players like Hunter Condon are taking a moment to appreciate a high school career full of great memories. Condon and the Ada Cougars are excited to take the field and get the season underway.
Head coach Shane Coker has called Condon one of the unsung heroes of this baseball team. We wanted to learn more about the senior as he prepared for his final year of prep competition.
VYPE: Hunter, what grade or age did you start playing baseball?
Condon: I started at four-years old in T-ball and began travel ball when I was six, so I have been playing for about 14 years.
VYPE: What do you enjoy most about your team and teammates?
Condon: My teammates mean everything to me because I see them as brothers. They are always there for me. When I’m down they know how to cheer me up and when I succeed, they are genuinely happy for me. We push one another to be our best selves on and off the field.
VYPE: What have you loved most about being a student-athlete at Ada High School?
Condon: The thing I love most is the environment as a whole. Ada has the best student body/section. No matter what sport, everyone cheers as loud as they can, and it just makes the game so much more fun.
VYPE: What would we find Hunter doing in his free time?
Condon: In my free time, I like to wind down by playing sport related video games or watching movies. Much of my spare time is usually spent doing something baseball related in order to continue getting better.
