The girl’s basketball team is currently ranked No. 7 in Class 4A as we roll through February. Did you know they have been on a winning streak and went undefeated in January winning 10 games in a row?
Baseball season is just around the corner. Did you know the Cougars will open the season with three straight road games? March 3rd, they play Christian Heritage and Lone Grove followed by a March 10th game on the road against Holdenville. The first home game is set for March 24th versus Pauls Valley.
Ada High School owns 70 state titles. Did you know Ada has more state tennis championships than football titles?
The boys and girls teams have combined for 24 state titles. The latest coming in 2019 and the first title was won in 1963, both by boys teams. They have only doubled up in twice, 1981 and 2016.
The first state championship won by an Ada High School team came in 1940. Did you know that was in boys basketball?
In 1940 Ada competed in Class A that year. Class B boys basketball was won by Burbank High School and Class C was won by Nuyaka High School.
Steve Hill was Ada High School’s first state champion wrestler. Did you know he won the heavy weight title in 1971?
