Ada’s Tyse Williams – Basketball Spotlight – Presented by Vintage Drug Co. of Ada

Tyse Williams

Ada High School

By Angela Brunk

Tyse Williams, a freshman at Ada High School, is already making an impact as a talented combo guard for the Ada basketball team. Participating in both basketball in the winter and track in the spring, Williams has quickly earned a reputation for his work ethic, discipline, and love for competition.

Williams’ motivation comes from his deep love for the game and his desire to compete at the highest level. Even at a young age, his dedication to basketball has set him apart. Behind his success are several key influences who have helped shape him both as an athlete and as a person. His parents have been his biggest supporters, constantly pushing him to be his best and reminding him of the value of effort and perseverance. Another major influence in his life is Theron Richardson, who has trained Williams since he was just six years old. Richardson’s guidance and tough training sessions have helped Williams develop the mindset of being “the hardest worker in the gym.”

In the classroom, Ms. Shana Simon has made the biggest academic impact on Williams. Known for her care and commitment to her students, Ms. Simon has consistently pushed Williams to excel and reach his full potential. Williamsappreciates how she always wants the best for all students.

Williams’ journey in sports has required countless hours of practice, early mornings, and sacrifices. While many of his peers spend time hanging out, Williams dedicates himself to improving his craft, knowing that discipline and consistency are the keys to long-term success.

One of the most memorable moments of his career so far was dunking on an opponent for the first time, a moment that symbolized how his hard work was paying off.

Outside of sports, Williams is involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where he continues to grow as a leader and person of faith.

Looking ahead, Williams’ goal is to play basketball at the college level and eventually fulfill his dream of competing professionally. Representing Ada High School as a freshman is something he considers both an honor and a blessing. For Tyse Williams, every game is a chance to honor his school, community, and everyone who has helped him along the way.
