This year, seasoned head coach Jeremy Strong and the Ada Cougars are rolling with the punches. “We will have a lot of new faces this year after graduating seven seniors last season,” Strong said. “We will lean on the experience of our returning veterans.’ Strong called the leadership in the clubhouse “strong” with seniors Karsyn Woods and Ariana Munoz returning. “They [Woods and Munoz] have been key pieces the last three years, and I’m excited to see what we do this season.” Munoz, who can pitch, play shortstop or anchor the outfield, enters her fourth year as a starter with high expectations. “She has been one of our strongest bats and has played and can play multiple positions for us,” Strong said. “I look for big things from her this season.” Woods became Ada’s ace in the circle last year. Strong hopes her experience sets her apart this season. “Karsyn had to step in to be our No. 1 pitcher last season and will again this year,” Strong said. “She has worked to get better for her team and really stepped up.” Kiki Williams (Jr.) will be one of the Cougars’ heavy hitters. “Kiki Williams and Braleigh Stephens will man the hot corner and behind the plate and will hit in the top of the order,” Strong said. “ Working in the outfield will be Makenzi Burden, who got valuable experience last season. Makenna Howell, Addi Jackson, Laila Ferree, Brailey Mansfield will be vying for the final outfield position.” Newcomers will play a key role for Ada this season. “A talented group of incoming freshmen will have a chance and be expected to contribute early. We are excited about the upcoming season and seeing this team grow and mature,” Strong said.
