Ada’s Couper Rogers – Golf Spotlight – Presented by Vision Bank

Stepping onto the green with a blend of determination and passion, Couper Taylor-Rogers, a sophomore at Ada High School, is making a name for himself on the golf course. As he navigates the challenges of high school and sports, Couper draws inspiration from his family, faith and aspirations for the future.

For Couper, family is the cornerstone of his journey. “My mom and dad never back down from a challenge,” he shared, reflecting on their unwavering support and belief in his potential. Their guidance and encouragement fuel his drive to succeed, instilling in him a sense of resilience and determination.

In the classroom, Couper finds mentorship in Mrs. Stephanie Duncan, a teacher who has pushed him to expand his horizons and embrace intellectual rigor. Her influence has empowered Couper to tackle challenging coursework and develop critical thinking skills essential for his academic and personal growth.

On the golf course, Couper’s journey is marked by dedication and self-belief. “Grinding and never doubting yourself,” he emphasized, highlighting the importance of perseverance in the face of obstacles. One of his proudest moments was achieving his first-ever eagle, a feat celebrated with joy alongside his father.

In competition, Couper finds motivation in facing formidable opponents like Tuttle, relishing the opportunity to test his skills and push his limits. Yet, it is the camaraderie and friendly rivalries with teammates like Drake that fuel his passion for the sport. “I love competing against someone better than me…sometimes I beat him,” Couper remarked, recognizing the value of friendly competition in his journey.

As he looks forward to his junior year, Couper plans to explore new interests by joining the chess club, further enriching his high school experience.

Looking ahead, Couper’s sights are set on collegiate golf, driven by a desire to continue honing his skills and pursuing his passion at the next level. Yet, beyond individual achievements, Couper remains grounded in his commitment to representing his school with pride and integrity.

As Couper Taylor-Rogers continues his journey, his dedication to excellence both on and off the golf course serves as an example of perseverance, faith and the power of belief in oneself.
