Ada’s George Maddox – Basketball Spotlight – Presented by First United Bank

On the hardwood courts of Ada High School, George Maddox stands as a dynamic force, commanding attention with his prowess in basketball and football alike.

When asked about his motivations, George points to his friends: “My friends motivate me. We push each other to be better every day.”

Reflecting on his influences, George attributes his drive to his parents. “My biggest influences are my parents because they are both hard workers and push me to be my best possible version of myself.”

In the classroom, Megan Moiser’s impact on George’s life is profound. “Mrs. Moiser had impacted my life because I never liked English class, but for junior and senior year, I had her class, and she has gotten my friends and me to learn and enjoy the class.”

For George, success in sports demands unwavering dedication. “I think what it has taken for me to be successful in my sports is my competitiveness. Whatever I’m doing, I wanna win, so that mindset has driven me to work harder to be better than the next guy.”

Amidst the memorable moments, George’s commitment to play college football stands out: “Definitely when I committed to play college football. It wasn’t anything crazy, but it just hit me really hard because it took years of grinding to get to where I am.”

In the heat of competition, George’s rivalry with McAlester burns bright. “McAlester hands down. It’s just a rivalry, and it’s always a great feeling beating them.”

During practice, George finds his greatest challenges and triumphs working against his teammate, Carter. “If I’m playing basketball, I want to work against Carter the most. He’s a freak athlete and insane ball player, so whenever I can work against him, I get better.”

Looking ahead, George’s commitment to SWOSU reflects his unwavering dedication. “I recently committed to play football at SWOSU, so that’s my plan after high school.”

Representing Ada High School means embodying the spirit of a community united in its passion for sports, a legacy that George Maddox carries with pride: “It’s an amazing feeling representing a community that gets behind their sports teams so well.”
