Tracy Truett moved to Ada at five years old and to this day is happy to call the town home. Truett is the proud mother of Rylynn who is a multi-sport athlete at Ada High School and Tracy herself is very active and supportive in the community and teaches at one of the schools.
“One of the best things about our community is how they support each other,” Truett said. “I know that from a school standpoint and by having a business in the community!”
Truett met her husband when they were both working at one of the local schools. Today the couple own a restaurant, Pigskins BBQ, and serve up home cooked meals throughout the week. However, Truett doesn’t let her busy schedule keep her from volunteering with the athletic booster clubs and assisting with school programs.
“Coach Strong’s wife and I are members both on the softball and basketball booster club. We have been members since our kids were freshmen,” Truett said. “We plan meals for the team, fundraise, organize fun playoff events, and all around try to make their time during that sport fun and feel supported!”
Truett loves helping out and supporting the Cougar athletic programs and doing whatever she can to make the student-athletes feel taken care of. She has words of encouragement for other parents who are interested in getting involved as well.
“To anyone interested in helping out I say get involved,” Truett said. “The kids can never have too many people in their corner trying to make things better. They put in so much time and work and love to feel like they are being recognized for it.”
Outside of Pigskins BBQ, Ada athletic activities, the Truetts also stay busy raising their French Bulldogs puppies whom they love dearly. While the Truetts stay busy they still find the time to appreciate the little moments in life.
“With a multi-sport athlete we don’t have a lot of free time, but when we do we love spending it with our friends and family! Those people in your circle really keep you sane and they are always there for a good laugh ‘till you cry moment!” Truett said.
